I am a photographer from the Midwest and grew up on a small farm in rural Ohio. I am a disability advocate because I grew up with an older sister Jacquelyn that has a developmental disability. My sister cannot speak, so we communicated non-verbally with each other. I also work as an occupational therapist and I am an Executive Director of a non-profit called Ohio SIBS that support initiatives by brothers and sisters for people with disabilities.
Through the years, the camera has been a primary tool for me to express myself. Photography is a form of communication that includes my sister since she communicates non-verbally. Themes in my work include the body, home, disability and the invisible.
